Lucy Bartholomew is an ultra-marathon runner hailing from Australia!
Starting at age 15, Lucy has dominated the running world with a smile. An Ultra-Marathon is a race longer than a marathon (26 miles, 42.19km). Lucy has ran over 20!
In 2018, she won 9 races and placed third at Western States. In 2021, she ran the rigorous Larapinta Trail documented through her new movie, "Running Out". She is also a plant-based athlete with a cookbook called "Sustain Your Ability".
I had the opportunity to sit down with Lucy to discuss her running journey, her passions of cooking plant-based, living sustainably, the world of ultra-marathons, and more! Our conversation was right after she completed the Larapinta Trail in Australia last May.

Steve Mariucci lives and breathes football, and he LOVES it, even at 45+ years playing, coaching, and analyzing the sport.

Steve has had quite the career in football: starting from being co-captains with Tom Izzo at Iron Mountain High School to being on the 1975 Championship team at Northern Michigan University. After college, Steve quickly jumped around, moving his wife around the country 18 times to gain extensive experience coaching at D1 universities and pro-level teams. He was the quarterback coach for the Green Bay Packers, coaching Brett Favre from 1992-1996. He became the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers in 1997, then the Detroit Lions in 2003.
Now, you can find Steve on TV where he is an analyst for the NFL Network. Besides football, Steve is incredibly passionate about his roots in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the non-profit Beacon House, travel, being a dad, and more!

Matt McDonell is the founder of Next 18, an organization that provides free week-long golf camps to veterans to provide a space for healing and mindfulness practices. Matt served as an Army Airborne Infantryman from 2011 to 2015 in both Germany and Afghanistan before medically retiring.
When he returned home, he became an entrepreneur until he faced a difficult struggle with mental health. Since his experience, he wanted to create a better way for veterans to heal which is why he founded Next 18. He is now on the way to becoming a social worker for first responders and veterans.

Gregg Martin is a Two Star Army General who served in the US Army for 35 years before resigning from his role as president of the National Defense University. Gregg graduated from West Point University, then went on to get two masters and a PHD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He had many incredible feats in the US Army, which he shares in our interview.
However, he had a mental war brewing inside. His battle with bipolar disorder began silently in active combat in Iraq in 2003, but he was finally properly diagnosed in 2014 following his resignation. His mission today is to end the stigma of bipolar disorder and mental health, specifically in the military, by sharing his story.
In our episode, Gregg shares his experiences in the Army including his incredible story of healing. He also dives into the work he does today to end the stigma of bipolar depression.
